I was at work last night and over the in-store music system (aka Muzak) a song I had never heard before came on. It sounds like a 70s funk band and I am sure they were using  a  Lionel tender air whistle throughout the song as part of the music.

Anyone have any idea of the song?  If it helps the music programming seems to be late 60s through late 80s

Great record!  But I'm guessing it was The Quad City DJ's..

Jon

That's a sports whistle on there as opposed to a Lionel whistle no?

That song sure got folks out on the dance floor when I was young enough to stay out that late.

As far as 70s funk songs go. I think half of them had whistles in them, lol!

Either way. Another reminder of how iconic the steam locomotive is to this day.

From the days when if you went out on a windy day, you could get beat to death from your lapels!

Keep the funk alive!!!
