Scaled Automation has been very busy working out the issues with implementing Positive Train Control using our Locomotive Controller. We are in final testing now and hope to release soon. We were able to demonstrate PTC operation at the recent NMRA National Train Show and got great feedback.
To explain a little about what goes into this, the Layout Controller has to send the Cab Control status of the next two signals and the block speeds as the train enters a block. Then the Locomotive Controller has to determine if it needs to slow down or stop.
