Here's some more Marx projects. A Santa Fe ABA in freight colors, a Reading AA & caboose and a customized Wm Crooks & tender. The loco now has a straight stack and the wood load removed from the tender and replaced with coal. The Fort Worth & Western RR name was done to match the New Marx Tarantula RR passenger set.

thanks Charlie. if viewed in person you can tell the diesels were made from combining badly damaged shells. i have units to do a Canadian Pacific ABA someday. the FW&WR was done with a nice piece to start with. looking for another engine & tender to letter for Virginia Truckee.

Here is a 318 I got new at York for a very good price but I didn't like the color so I did it in black to run any color I want behind it.

 

Here is my 408E dummy repaint.

 

 

Chris, you need some black hoppers (coal cars) and a red caboose with a black roof to run behind that 318!

 

That would look good! I have the red caboose i just need some hoppers!

I restored and repainted this Carlisle & Finch No. 4 loco and tender a couple of years ago.

Another engine paint job as I had too many black steamers of the 2-4-2 Lionel version.

 

 

To bad this photo does not show the coal tender. 

 

Keep the pictures coming.  They are great and your paint jobs put my spay can painting to shame.

II've had these Sakai's since the mid 50's. I repainted the rear one. The Hogwarts is also a good one to repaint.

Here is a Rich-Art 256. I only painted the roof and frame. For whatever reason, they used flat black. I did this one for Jeff Meyer's.

 

 

 

This was a junker 1688 shell. It has been repainted along with a spare tender. It is also re motored with a Marx 333 smoking motor. I still need to order new nameplates for the sides.

I had a 1688E I was planning on doing that exact same thing with Steve. Never got around to it though, the shell is still sitting in my closet. Nice to get a good look at what it could look like though!

 

So far I only have 1 tinplate locomotive (out of 2 working ones that I own) that I've repainted, as seen on an earlier thread.
