I looked for some ideas here on the forum  and wanted to add what I did to these nice shells that both had clean breakson both shells.

I have a hand jewelers drill and  as you can see you can come pretty close with the hole on both sides

I used a same size drill bit for its pin I used the JB super glue to mate them together

I ordered the Lionel nose protectors  and their ready to run..  you can still see the break but I hoping they wont all apart

time will tell.....daniel

Surprisingly, I kept the broken pieces from my PW 212 AA set. Glued them back on in the last few years. Also found on eBay years ago some metal reinforcement plates that go between the body and the shell to support the lower apron. Weren't too expensive, and I figured it couldn't hurt. Don't know if they are still available.
