I can tell you why you should use the add atttachments method and not use the copy and paste method.

Search the forum and find and answer to a problem discussed in 2011 or 2012 and an important photo of the fix is missing with a dumb photo bucket message.

Search for a layout design idea and find a wonderful layout with the photos missing. Same dumb message.

Find a thread of interest and the photo of the topic is so small, zooming the browser doesn't give you a good look.

Use the tools the forum provides and be considerate of other forum users.

Copy and paste is so Win98.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I was able to add a pair of two photo replies this morning using the "add attachments" method and both replies appeared right away with the photos displayed.

The cut and paste method did work for one reply with only one photo. Obviously, that method does not work with multiple photos in one reply.

Moonman, I am sorry if you were offended by my questions and lack of knowledge about this forum. I didn't think I was being inconsiderate by asking for help. I guess that, in your opinion, only experts should make posts and not trouble the tech support people with questions.

Jerry

Sorry, Jerry. That was a little harsh. I vented my frustration on your situation.

Actually, I was speaking about the photobucket and pasted pictures that end up not being available at a later date as the act of inconsideration. It was not your asking.

Ask away, I do. If you don't, you won't get the answer that you need. I look forward to your contributions and photos.

AMEN!

Jerry, the issue with your pictures had nothing to do with you or your pictures. If you had left them in your post, they would have been approved!

The problem is this...we have a few "trigger words" set which will send a post to the moderation queue for review before posting. Every once in a while, the coding which represents a picture triggers on one of these words. I don't know why it happens and Hoopla Tech Support can't tell me either, but it happens. This is an automatic process...no one here is looking at your pictures making decisions about them.

If you had left your posting alone, one of our moderators would have discovered it and approved it! So how about re-posting the pictures you posted the other day so we can enjoy them? They may go to moderation again because of the image coding issue, but they'll ultimately get approved.

With regard to "discontinuing" your membership, if you don't want to participate here, that is certainly your choice. There is nothing you or we have to do, you just don't participate any more. I certainly hope that does NOT happen.

Jerry Davis,

Don't quit the OGR because of picture posting problems, running a forum like OGR is more complex than you might imagine, there are things that happen in an automatic function, I think you may have set off a couple of the triggers Rich has set up to help

run the forum smoothly.  I post a lot of pictures here on the OGR and had to have Rich guide me thru some of the new procedures myself, take it slow and learn how to post the pictures and everything works out fine.

This is still the best managed forum on the Web!

Rich,

Thank you for the explanation, something that makes sense. I will try again. This time I hope I can do it correctly.

Glad to hear you've stuck around & got the picture thing down at least.

The video doesn't always show in the composing window for me, sometimes it doesn't show till post is submitted (other than the "orange box"). Size of the video, or file type may be holding you up. I haven't read all the posts here, but FYI- Photobucket can get slow, doesn't always do well for me. I download from PB into my pc then upload in attachments.

Hi, Guys,

I need your help to a truly illiterate computer person. I have taken many pictures of my layout on my Apple 6 I phone and could someone kindly take me from there to putting the photos on the OGR Forum for others to enjoy. Thank you for all your help!!!!  John P.Dunn Sr.

John,

When you are posting there is an "add attachments" in the lower right corner of the blue box. If you select it the next step is it wants you to browse your images and select one to load. Try it and let us know where you get hung up. After it loads there will be a box for you to select if you'd like to have it appear full size in your post.

Dear Bobby,

Let us see what happens. I guess my question is now how do I transfer/download photos from my IPhone to the computer so I can attach them to the OGR forum. Thank you, John

That's a mystery question for Steve Jobs!  Doesn't Apple require you to have iTunes (or some sort of Apple only software?) to download images to your computer?

Have you tried doing a post directly from your phone? I see you have some type of photo database attachments on your last post. What are they supposed to be?
