Recently purchased this item on the "other site".
I run a little HO on the side and thought this little gem might also work with S.
I have never come across or even seen one like it.
Can anyone shed some light on it's history?

It was made around 1960. You could use it with S gauge, but you will have to put it on a base to rise the building to clear the height of a S gauge car.
The box is very specific the it has included imitation ANTHRACITE coal, not imitation bituminous or ignite or rosebud coal!
I remember the TM video on Mike Koloseus' S gauge layout. I believe he is in the Pacific Northwest. The video is about 20+ years old and shows this coal loader used with his Gilbert S gauge equipment.
This layout also showed action accessories built out of Erector sets. I believe this layout was torn down to make way for a newer one.
