I have been asked to look at a Flyer steam engine made in the mid '50s. I have little experience with Flyer. The owner tells me its cab number is 203 but I have not been able find any reference to a 203. 302 and 303 yes but no 203. Could the owner be mistaken or did these exist?

Also is there a site for Flyer trains similar to postwarlionel.com or tandem?

There were no locomotives with the number 203 listed on them. A good book to get is " The Standard Catalog of American Flyer Trains" by David Doyle.  The sections on the S-Scale trains while not perfect is quite complete. A web site "MyFlyerTrains.org" also has alot of good information about post war Flyer.  I hope this helps.

Pete: Here’s a good free reference which among other things has links to every page of every post-war AF Catalog as well as links to suppliers of parts, etc.
