Don't the fast track connections get bent out after repeated use? Is this track older? If so, were the pins clean? Did you re-crimp the ends in to make tighter joints?

Like suggested above, you may need more than one track connection for good power distribution. The size of the wire matters too. Any track brand has it's own flaws and all of them need good power connections.

So, again, is this track used? It sounds like it is. If you'd like help, it would be good to reply with some answers. No one is blaming you, we just wish to help.

How many track power connections did you have?

Can you take a picture and post it of your track connection and your power source?

What size wire (gauge or number) and type of wire did you use?

How long is that wire run?
