On 5/25/18 I called up MTH Customer service department requesting possible service on my 2-8-0 which was dead. That was my 2nd 2-8-0 to suddenly go dead. I was told it would take a minimum of 10 weeks for completion. Shipped engine out on 5/26. Received a phone call from the service department on Tuesday, and a complete explanation of work done, list of parts and labor cost including their standard 20.00 shipping charges was explained to me. Also at no charge the engine was given a complete lube and grease job, and 2 traction tires replaced. Today, I received the engine, and runs and sounds better then ever.

Outstanding service and communication with the customer. Plus they accept out of warranty service. One reason, new engine's will be purchased from MTH.
