I'm thinning the herd and offering these items here tonight before I put them on eBay. First up is this Pre War Marklin O Gauge ELECTRIC set from the 1930's. It is in it's original box, (lid needs some re-inforcement) and is almost perfect. The loco is an 0-4-0, numbered 12880 on one side of the cab, on the other side of the cab is 20V, with a matching tender. There are some slight box rubs (pictured) in the paint, but it is oh so nice otherwise. It runs, forward and reverse, using a manual reversing unit. The tender is a four wheel unit with the designation on the rear: MARKLIN 889/0 Germany. The loco and tender pull two passenger coaches, both numbered 17190. One coach is darn near perfect, the other has a small ding on the roof. It is not a dent, but rather mishappen, and could be straightened out by its new owner. Also included is four straight pieces of track (sorry, no curves) . Overall, a wonderful set, absolute eye candy. Look at the pictures!! Asking $500.00 shipped. I am negotiable. A similar set is here and it sold on eBay. It was CLOCKWORK. Mine is electric.
The other set I am offering is a Lionel uncataloged set 1700 E in Hiawatha orange and gray. Although this is a restoration, it is a restoration done on the correct set. It is a set that had smooth sided cars and powered unit. I did not do this restoration, it was done by a gentleman I know. He also wired the cars for interior illumination. It is not permanent, it can removed, but it is cool. Looking to get $165.00 + $15.00 shipping. Again I am negotiable.
