Having tried the new "Premium" Lionel fluid, I still prefer the previous fluid (6-62909) on the basis of odor. Actually, I alternate between JT's NADA and the Lionel 6-62909.

I have laid in a copious supply of the latter to be on the safe side.

Although a minor inconvenience, the old bottles did NOT require cutting off the tip!

My experience is that the premium smoke works as good if not better than JT.  My Legacy 844 out smokes anything I have using it.

The biggest problem is it goes fast and one must keep the engine well supplied.  I am finding that on some engines the wicking seems to char quicker to the resistor.  Not sure if this is the fluid or just not having enough in it.

Ive removed the dropper and just use the Lionel pipette to suck it out of the bottle.

The new Lionel premium fluid does tend to run out and needs refilling faster than other brands. To avoid wick charring, I usually refill when the smoke output noticeably starts to decrease. I also do a generous refilling at the end of each run session to let the wick soak up a good amount of fluid overnight.
