Premium Subscription

If you purchase a Premium Membership, you will get an email about 10 days before your membership would expire next year. At that time you have the option of doing nothing and it will automatically renew, or you can cancel. Your choice.

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it.  Unfortunately, that means the answer to my question is "no" which means I won't subscribe this way.  I'll look into perhaps subscribing the old-fashioned hard copy way by check, if it's available.

You might want to give members the option to opt-out of auto-renewals.

I don't understand why auto-renewal would be a problem, especially since you have the opportunity to cancel the renewal if you wish. Almost every site on the internet that sells an annual subscription utilizes auto-renewal. We cannot offer an opt-out on the auto-renewals. That's not how it works.

We would be happy to see you subscribe to the print magazine if you are uncomfortable with the digital auto-renewal process. You can do that RIGHT HERE.

That's a good thing.  I had auto-renewal with a photo hosting site and they never emailed prior to charging my CC.  Not expecting the charge, it was a bit of a shock and had me having to do some work to make sure it was on the up and up.

One thing I always wondered, if I closed a CC account and open another (let's say to a bogus charge/compromised CC), the charge from this hosting site still showed up.  How did the bank know to accept the charge?  I would have thought it would have been declined and the hosting site would have notified me, but it always went thru.
