Print Bed Surfaces

I use PEI spring steel sheets on my MK3. Textured and flat options depending on the surface needed. Phenomenal adhesion and easy non-destructive removal. I use spring steel sheets on my FDM and Resin prints. They do make sheets for CR-10's.

^^Ditto for my Prussia. I also sometimes add a brim to the first layer for better adhesion.

A guy recently told me how much I'm missing out on the PEI spring sheets or any other host of better surfaces. He recommended products from Wham Bam. Anybody have experience with that?

I also use spring steel for my Prussa and never have an issue.

I print on glass with my Anet A8 and put down a thin layer of cheap hair spray.  Never have had problems with the print adhering to the surface.  After a few prints I clean it off with a wet rag to smooth the surface.

I have a cheapo 3d printer. I read somewhere to use painters tape, of course laying it down carefully. The wider the tape the easier it is. It worked for me but YMMV.

Painters tape is old school! We used that in 2015 in college haha but it was very effective!!

Old school and cheap!  Very cheap for me since I have a virtually unlimited supply of painters tape for no charge.  I don't charge for volunteering for this non-profit organization that uses tons of it, but I give up 4-6 hours of my time each session.

I also use the Prusa spring steel plates.  There are various techniques for sticking better/less.  I am now using Layerneer Bed Weld to coat the surface on my well used plate.   To get PLA to stick better and PETG to release better.  I have also set my first layer to 0.3mm, no matter what the other layers are.

I have Wham Bam plates for my Elegoo Resin printer and they are great. They do a nice job, so I would be confident in their products.

I appreciate the input @Markp2021. I think I'll order up a plate and see how it goes. I know a lighter build surface would improve my surface quality.

I use a PEI spring steel sheet on my ender3.  Btw I noticed PETG sticks to well to this surface but PLA is a dream.
