As you are probably aware, I'm on the Forum very frequently. It's great and well monitored. I love the site!  Thanks!  However, I have one issue.

I have missed several purchases, when I was probably first because the Seller did not realize that I had sent a Private Message. I understand that if you sign up for Private Messages, you should check for them. Having said that, is there any way to make an incoming Private Message more noticeable to the recipient? In have also been a recipient who has not immediately noticed incoming  Private Messages.

Just a question and absolutely not a complaint.  Thank you for maintaining the Forum.

John,

Private Messaging is only available to Digital Subscribers. It's one of the perks of being a digital subscriber. If the person to whom you are sending the PM is not a digital sub, they will never see it.

Rich, if the person isn't a Digital Subscriber, the option doesn't appear in their profile when you click on it.  That being the case, if he managed to actually send a PM, the person must have been a digital subscriber, right?

I get email notifications whenever I get a PMs. They are one of the options in settings, so you can still limit other notifications while knowing you’ve got a message without having to always check the bell icon. Rich’s suggestion to use email is spot on though because it covers everyone, not juse digital subscribers and is probably checked more frequently.

You can’t send technically send them as email. What you can do is turn on notifications for private messages in Your Settings/Notifications/Private Messages. The notification includes the contents of the private message, I’ve got one in my Inbox right now. You don’t respond directly from email. You click View Reply and it takes you to the message where you reply.
