I just wanted to see if anyone else was having issues with this wave of new Lionel products. Picked up a few sound boxcars and a couple Slag Car packs from a pre order and they have horrible issues with the trucks. Yes, I do understand the small detailed parts can break from shipping, which I don't care about.  Those I just glue back like the break wheel on one of the boxcars I just did.

The strange thing is I examined the shipping carton, orange box, and plastic holding, those items are in perfect condition with no damage or dents or water found.

1. Boxcar issues 2 of the 3 purchased

     A. Knuckle part of all coupler grinds when opening and closing with your finger.

     B. Uncoupler plate under truck was not attached to truck.

     C. Uncouple tab is bent and rusty on one coupler.

     D. Very difficult to open and close. When it can close sometimes it'll uncouple on its own when another car is attached to it.

2. Slag Car Issues, 1 of the small ones inside the pack (US Steel)

     A. One of the three will not light up. It can light up if you push the trucks into the track with a moderate amount of pressure.

     B. Randomly if it does light up on its own. When you tilt the molten cup it will turn off.

     C. One of the trucks is angled high enough where only half of the coupler is mating with the next car, the rest is in the air.

     D. Not sure if it's an issue or not, one set's molten cups doesn't stay tilted and try's to center itself back up (US Steel). The other one seems nicely firm and those 3 in that set will stay tilted down (Bethlehem Steel). Bethlehem Steel was the only one that arrived perfectly without issues that I noticed.

Hope this doesn't sound like a vent. I just wanted to see if I was the only one with this. Feels sickening to spend saved up cash to receive it in this state.

Thanks for reading.
