I've been making steady progress on my CTA layout. The structure for the new stations is done ...

I've still need to add the wooden platform supports. I've also put in a removable return loop. It sits in the entrance to my crawal space so it is removable.

A view from the return loop:

I still need to add the wooden platforms to the station.

And some misc. views:

Very cool looking and thanks for sharing.

Some great memories.  My father and I would get on in Cicero and take the Douglas to Jackson and switch over to the Howard Dan Ryan to catch Cubs games at Wrigley. Traveling through the Rush University medical center was so cool to me.

I do like the MTH model shown in the pics, but I wish the "horn" was a little more accurate. I remember it as a "whoop whoop" sound lol.

Thanks all for the comments!

Yes, I think MTH didn't do that great of a job on the sounds ... especially the air brake sounds since these cars didn't have air brakes. But, since there isn't much else available, oh well.

On the other end of the layout: I am going to try to finish this part first. Then, I am going to make a 90 degree turn past a bunch of obstructions (fuse box, window, water softener). I hope to come back around to an area in the center of the room (approx 4 x 5) where I will build a terminal and a yard. I don't think I'll have enough room for a return loop, but who knows. Maybe something removable.

I made a video of some "rainfan" shots (not too sure how to imbed a Youtube video)

Great photo! My guess would pulling into Loyola? But, a little confused with the hole in the middle of the embankment. Not too sure of the pre-renovation Loyola station .. way before my time. Guessing Loyola as Albion (Albion Shores Hotel) is just a couple of blocks north of the station. My old stomping grounds and where I grew an appreciation for the CTA ... as I am a Loyola University alum.
