Greetings all,

I may be giving MTH another chance with there locomotives here. But I am still concerned about biding on a Proto-Sound 2 UP FEF. The last one I had the board burned out before I could even run it 1 foot. So I am curious as to what your opinions are of the MTH FEFs with PS-2 boards and your experiences with them.

Look for the models after about 2004, those had the 3V board and they're MUCH more robust than the 5V board.

Yes, or just pay according to the likelihood that you'll have to replace the board.

Well, the PS32 replacement board and heatsink MSRP is $238, and then you have to install it.

If it's the PS2 5v version mounted in the boiler, the fit is pretty tight. Custom mount needed.
