PS3 evo board or Diesel kit Found some!

How does the PS/3 kit get you charging lights?  I suspect that's an additional board, I can't see anything in the PS/3 board that would do that.

Yes, I imagine it is! I will check when I open my O scale Evo up.

If you load the EVO chain file into a PS3 board then run it on a test fixture, you will observe charging lights on the fixture.(they are there)  Joe will still need the lights for the loco.  The PS3 board will handle the rest.

What are the charging lights connected to?  Which outputs?  I confess, I wouldn't have thought the stock board would support them.

Dave, there isn't one in my test fixture.   I'm tempted to download the EVO sound file and fire it up on my test fixture.

I just spent a bunch of time altering my wiring to now include a polarity switch. None of the wires would reach it so it turned into more work. Shouldn't have been a big deal but I hate wiring.

 All of this because so far, I can't find a PS3 kit. I went to the MTH site and downloaded the sound file for an engine that listed having PS2. I swear the description says it's for a PS3? (4meg?)

I may have to upload the file from my older PS2 Evo w/ charging lights to use in the board. Maybe they all came with PS3??? Maybe I'll just borrow that engine's boards?

I sure hope I can find a kit before I finish building. That may take me some time though.

hi the ps 3 kits came in I purchased 2 steam kits from mth they came yesterday. order one from mth mine came  yesterday!

I had them check.  2 guys said MTH is out of the diesel kit. I believe them.

I just did a search Matt and found it at a dealer in NJ and bought it.

The PS-3 board supports the lights, but there is another board on chassis that those connections go to that feeds the chassis charging light strip. 

Interesting George, is the other board just a junction board or does it have active components?

I would have guessed that the extra board would have to take inputs and convert them to change the light chase direction?

Well, the PS/3 board could easily do that if it's actually supporting the lights.  I'd think maybe the extra board would have higher current drivers to drive multiple LED's, but that's obviously a wild guess since I've never taken one of these apart.

If anyone needs a board kit, Jr Junction says they have them too.

I ordered the board from All Aboard Trains in NJ. I just got confirmation that they are shipping.

I didn't know if there were enough outputs on the PS3 board for the charging lights. I had guessed that there maybe some kind of chase board for them. I had also guessed that if there was a chase board, it would control the direction of the lights chase pattern.

 I will still have to tear into my O scale Evo. I still don't know what's going on.
