Wondering if anybody would know how to correct a 2 problems with a PT tender (CC 6-6-38097) with an IR coupler that I re-numbered to match NYC Hudson 5344 (6-18056) also with an IR coupler. I am running it in conventional mode with a new modern Lionel ZW. The problems are that the chuff never revs up with an increase in speed and in going from neutral to forward and neutral to reverse, the reversing light blinks on and off with the tender marker lights. The Vanderbilt tender that originally came with the Hudson does have a reverse light on the tender so I assume that the electronics should match. Isn't it supposed to stay lit when in reverse? Please know that I am not well versed in modern electronics so, if anyone knows a possible solution, a simple explanation would be very helpful.
