It's been 2 years.......and now is less than 2 weeks away.......I've got York fever and I want everyone to "get infected" by looking at the smiles of York attendees over the years. Join in with your own York photos.....

I've been going to York since 1983......but York didn't have a "social aspect" until this great Forum started 20+ years ago (thank you, OGR!).

I'll start with some early York pics......

Great photos! I’m looking forward the getting back to York. Unfortunately we’ve lost many in the last two years, and those have been heavy on my heart. But seeing your photos reminds me, too, of good times, and those that we’ll be lucky to see in just two weeks. I’m sorry to say that Trainpop has been experiencing more health issues and won’t be coming with me this fall. But he says to tell all of you he says hello!

While I don't have years upon years of York under my belt, I know what Peter is talking about. After joining the forum I mostly read posts and never really commented. Peter had a topic where he was doing some work on some layout work or such which peaked my interest. I asked him how he did what he did, so he told me. It was using spray paint on foam roadbed. Peter also encouraged me to attend York. Something I had never done. I also got encouragement from one of the eBay sellers Tom who lives not to far from me.

With that encouragement, I decided that I should do so. My then coworker Bobby was also interested and we both came. We got there on time on Wednesday of October 2017. I had told Bobby about Peter's Pre-York breakfast that we would attend. I think I was overly excited and that maybe why Bobby and I missed the turn and went down 64 I think it is. We turned around and came back to Round the Clock Diner for breakfast.

Got there later than I had wanted, had breakfast and chatted up a storm. Yeah, I'm known to talk just about anything, and talked to Mark Boyce and Sam at their table before we headed out.

Coming to York has always felt the same for me. An unmistakable feeling of wonder and amazement. Something like seeing something that is exillerating. Each year I've attended after the first, I've always looked forward to talking with everyone I possibly can as well as see everything I can see. Also, my buying list had gone from things I've wanted, to an open list and being less just buying to buy something.

Whatever this York brings, I'll definitely take more pictures where I am allowed to. I always kick myself for not taking more pictures.

Great photos Peter. Thanks for posting-In looking at these photos through the years, one thing is for certain-that  Peter has not aged at all. He must know something about medicine, or is a vampire. I'm willing to bet its the former rather than the latter. May be playing with trains also keeps him young.

Looking forward to seeing you next week my friend, and all my friends in the photos.

It does take me longer and longer each morning to do my make-up......

Actually, I should probably update my picture....I turned 68 in June and, you can see the gray is starting to peek through......

Safe travels to all and see you all next week!

Well, at least it is peaking through now. My late and former coworker was very salty gray in his early 40's. He was an interesting person, and some of our other coworkers would joke about his early grays. Not me though, I am somewhat salty gray in some spots myself, just turning 50. That's okay though. Growing up with shiny blonde hair that grew darker much like my father's, I'm used to the change. Of course his hair went black from blonde.
