While trying to find a "Colorado" EMC gas electric with St. Louis body, as was modeled (C&NW #9905) in the common Walthers kit,  l found Sandy Fay had two, the M-108 and M-109, with different, from each other, seat and window arrangements.  They had 21 EMC cars with Pullman bodies that look similar to the St. Louis bodies in some photos.  ATSF last operated a revenue gas electric in 1967.  Two Colorado and Southern cars were baggage only, so l guess l will go with a Burlington car, but a Santa Fe car is possible.

Very cool pic Brian, do you know who took the pic? Looks like an East Bound fast mail maybe around circa late 40’s - 50’s by the looks of the car on the Main St bridge?

Actually, it could be any of several trains that used Alcos -- Fast Mail, Grand Canyon, Tulsan, San Francisco Chief, although not all were scheduled to be at Kansas City in daylight hours.

The date is definitely 1960 or later.  That's when the windshield and nose grabirons, nose multiple-unit control receptacles, and Santa Fe shop-built oscillating headlight were added to the Alcos.  They had just received radio (ground plane on roof) and Leslie chime air horns in 1958-'59.

The City of Albuquerque has begun the clean up process for the new plans to turn the area into a tourist/shopping industrial area. Some of the buildings will be demolished but they haven't stated which ones...yet. Since Netflix is now head quartered here in The Abq, they are filming almost every day or night at the shops. The new Breaking Bad movie has been shooting all over in downtown and a new series called Day Break.

The first step in the clean up process was selling off and removing the caboose and troop cars. They were all three bought by an antique collector who SAYS he is going to restore all three pieces. So far the caboose has been relocated to a local brewery where restoration is supposed to begin. We shall see. The troop cars are sitting in a field with an old 50/60's era box car for now, just off Broadway, south of the yard.

Several scenes were shot from Breaking Bad were shot right here, which is now empty.

Filming has been going on for Day Break (a post apocalyptic movie about teenagers and zombies) every night for the past week or two. They have white canvas up everywhere with huge lights to give it that washed out sky look when they shoot at night. Every now and then the Netflix guy comes over to the yard office and asks if we can keep the noise down at night while they are filming. lol Sure, no problem!
