Hi Rick ........If this is newer rolling stock it may have the mounting holes in place, which means its easy, may just need a shim. If not then its more difficult but doable. I have several open hoppers to do and one end there is a place to drill holes and mount KD's. The other end not even a place to drill holes. I have to glue a custom piece of plastic on.            Can you send photo of bottom of car in question ?

I converted a couple of older ones, including the NAHX car from the very first release. It’s not too hard, but you do have to build up a mounting pad inside the end (unless as Clem says MTH upgraded to make them Kadee ready).  Just cut and glue sheet styrene and drill the mount holes. I usually lower MTH hoppers by swapping in Atlas 100 ton trucks. I didn’t bother on these, though. I thought they looked OK with factory trucks. It’s always worthwhile to convert to Kadees. I think this was one the first MTH conversions I did

I have one of the older MTH 4 bay cylindrical hoppers what thickness of Styrene do you is to make the Kadee mount?
