question for Ryan (Lionel) Re Polar Express

It would make more sense to just call Lionel customer service and ask.  I doubt you will get a public answer here. Without seeing the locomotive in person how could someone give you an real answer.

I was thinking that maybe it beeps, even if the sound system goes - so it might have been the power situation at York.  I won't know until I test the engine at home.

Just wondering if the sound board went bad, can it be replaced?

Thanks, I got ahold of Katie from Lionel - and she was very helpful.  I need to get ahold of GunRunner John from Hennings (if the sound doesn't work when I test it) and get him to send it in for me.

The boards are available, that's the information I needed.

Great News.  The Polar Berk is ok - sound fully functional.  NPS was experiencing many problems with DCC operations that has been deduced to be caused by fluctuating power supply.  The train on the electrical system of the building was producing spikes and valleys.

I was hoping that was the case.

Thanks, it is a great little engine and got me hooked on S.  The Northern is good too, just wish it were a T1!  They both run great and are reliable.  If Lionel wants to grow the market, keep making stuff like this, with maybe a High end option.
