I'm in the process of rebuilding a "Z" transformer. It appears to have some sort of resistor (I think it is Q-% or Q-6, going from the circuit breaker to the light indicating the breaker tripped. This resistor is damaged. I haven't been able to find a new one on-line.
Does anyone know where I might find one or if there is an equivalent replacement? I'm not an electrical expert so I can't even figure out why a resistor would be needed just going from the circuit breaker to the light bulb. I'd love to understand why it is there.
Besides changing the power cord, I decided to also replace the rollers since at least two of them seemed worn. I have to say what a nightmare it is rebuilding this transformer. I've rebuilt several ZW transformers by replacing the power cord, rollers, circuit breaker, and whistle diode. That repair is a breeze compared to the almost total disassembly required to repair the Z.
