I purchased my first NEW PS3 engine today.  The rest of my engines are PS2.  This is a New Haven RS3  30-20655-1.  I have two questions: 1) I did the required lubrication and smoke priming before putting it into service.  I put in about 15 drops of smoke fluid in the top stack.  But upon power up and operation, the smoke comes out of everywhere BUT the stack!  mostly comes from around the edges of the main housing.   If the stack were somehow clogged with something, the fluid I put in would have been obstructed.  I am hesitant to take it apart this soon, but looking for guidance. And 2) I got the extra piece shown in the picture here with the extra tires but don't know what it's for. Nothing in the manual about it.IMG_5147

Reading your post reminds me of that special feeling when you get that unmistakeable scent from the plastic wrapped engine.  Then the smell of the oils and new components when you hold that heft in your hand.  Then lubrication and placing her down on the rails for the first time.   It is always special, and for one brief shinning moment, the man turns into a boy.

Congratulations on you new PS3.  Your in for a treat.
