Question for Gunrunner John or other experts: I have an Atlas Trainman TMCC Dash 8 apart and realized the TMCC antenna has come unplugged. This is not my area so I need guidance on where it plugs back in. My guess is the place I’ve indicated with the red arrow in righthand side of the photo, but figured I’d better check. Thanks in advance.
NO, I think that is sound board. You have R4LC in there. Is this an ERR Cruise Commander system? If it is, and that type of connector for antenna, usually goes to a stand alone pin on the board the R4LC is attached to. Look at a set of ERR instructions to see if that is the board you have. Or we need a wider picture of the board set. The command board is at the top of your picture. G
You have a newer RS-Lite sound board, so as George says, a wider shot and a side shot of the electronics would be useful. Exactly how old is this engine, and do you have an actual product number?
Thanks, guys. This is a two-year old Atlas Trainman Dash 8 item number 20032005. These are factory installed electronics. I need to run out but will take and post more photos later. Thanks again and you guys all have a happy Fourth.
As I recall, it doesnt have a socket, there just a pin sticking up that it fits on to. Its on the corner of a board.
OK, two years old it's the ERR Cruise Commander. Right next to the 7-pin connector for lights and smoke there is a single .025" square post to plug the antenna.
GRJ, is this it? (picture in PDF)
Thanks, guys. With your help I found it. Even with John’s picture as a guide it was hard to see hiding among two wires:
And as requested, and for anyone curious, here’s an overall shot of the board in this engine:
Thanks again everyone for your help, thoughts, and suggestions. I very much appreciate it
