The other day I happened to be watching the TMCC2 (Legacy) command lines being output on my computer screen while operating my Cab2. I noticed that the quilling horn can output horn intensity levels 1 through 15. However, Lionel seems to have grouped this into only 3 sound files:
1-3 generates low horn
4-12 generates medium horn
13-15 generates high horn
So, my question is this: Did Lionel ever actually implement a quilling horn or whistle with a nice 15 level graduated output as per the Legacy spec? Or did they from the very beginning decide to cost-cut and only give us three intensities? I know dynachuff labor effects use the 15 steps. Why did the quilling horn get less?
