I replaced a failed processor board in a MTH Premier RDG Camelback 20-3359-1 and upon downloading the proper sound file, the quilling whistle feature no longer works even though the icon soft key is present. Is it possible that this needs a flash download to restore this feature? I did do a factory re-set, but that did not cure the problem. All other features work as expected.

If so, that can only be done by MTH. You cannot flash a PS2 board via the Loader Program.

Barry,

Yes, unfortunately that is true. I will contact MTH and see if in fact it needs a flash. I've always regretted that our technician loader program does not allow for flashing of O gauge engines.

Eric you need the Flash Board with specific code for your engine.  I believe the camel back also has small smoke, and you risk damaging the heater element with a normal PS-2 board.

The bad news is MTH maybe out of those PS-2 AE-14 boards now.

Flashing a PS-2 board is done with a production machine and also needs the correct processor.  It is not a Dealer loader for PS-2.  G

Barry,

You are correct as usual about the loader program.

GGG,

The engine does have the smaller smoke unit and thanks for the information. I will use the smoke units low setting, and hopefully no damage will result.

Thank you both for your help! I had hoped for an easier fix, but fortunately it is my own engine for a change and I can easily live without the quilling whistle.
