I was setting up our holiday layout with two ovals connected by a pair of R27 Right hand switches.  I was doing this in command mode.  At the point where the Y of the frog is they would not have any power no matter which direction I threw the switch.  I took a caboose that had a light and moved it on the track and when the wheel touched the Y joint power was restored.  When it moved off it was dead.  I switched the order of the 2 R27 Right hand switches and had the same bad result.  I decided to try connecting the two ovals with a pair of R27 Left Hand switches and everything worked just fine.  Power was available to both ovals.

Question: Does anyone know if there was a reported wiring defect with the R27 Right hand switches from Lionel?  Mine were from the first batch.  If anyone knows a solution to this problem or can tell me what I could possibly be doing wrong I would appreciate it.
