Railfanning at Locust Grove, GA (8.9.22)

Another amazing video, Kevin. Love the mix of equipment you captured - even saw some nice covered coil cars in action. I was going to ask if you were using a tripod… very smooth videos. I really wish we had some locations up here in NE Pennsylvania with dedicated train spotting locations

One question for you (or any other knowledgeable real train folks): around 3:44, there is a short group of single level container cars which look like they are riding on a skeleton frame instead of a well car. Can anyone tell me what those are???

👍 Wow Kevin, those are some incredibly long freights.  The only ones I am aware of longer is the coal drag from the Dakotas to the Colorado power plant.  generally 200 hoppers, BNSF.  That plant powers Just about all of CO.

That is so cool there's a viewing station that is even covered with a roof for rail fans is case of inclement weather,  Great video!  I wonder where those containers are originally docked, I would guess the port of Florida'.. Very interesting creating many questions,,,,  Nice hunting Keven, and you're looking pretty good for your age...😁✔🌟

Paul/Ted - Yes, those dedicated train watching platforms are great.

Ted - The Port of Savannah is one of the busiest in the USA, so I would guess that the bulk of those freight cars are originating or destined for there.

Nice spot to watch them go by.
