Railking Imperial P47 Pacific Steamer

I am amazed at the extraordinary detail, sounds, smoke, operation and appearance of this Proto 3 steamer. It is in the 2020 Volume 2 MTH catalogue. I will post photos and a video of it tomorrow or Sunday.

This is my first MTH Proto 3 steam locomotive. I do have a very nice MTH Proto 2 steamer and several outstanding Proto 3 diesels.

With MTH apparently going out of business in a few months, and having recently acquired the DCS Remote Control Set, I went on the hunt for a Proto 3 steamer so I could hopefully have at least one in my collection before MTH closed up for good.

For those of you who have Proto 3 steamers, I would love to know what you think of them.

I have quite a few, mostly from the imperial line up. I like the better sound sets available in the PS3 engines. Whenever possible, I add a quill-able whistle from a Premier engine sound set to my Railkings. Of the many I have, the wireless draw bar on one did give me trouble and it turned out to be a mis-crimped wire inside the tender. If you do have wider turns, you can change the longer drawbar out for a short one that gives a more realistic appearance.
