I've known about the background of how the Keep Calm and Carry On poster literally saw the light of day, but just thought that others may find it interesting. The posters were uncovered in Barter Books, a bookstore in Alnwick, Northumberland in the North East section of England. The bookstore was formerly a railroad station. I hope to "cross the pond" some day to pay the store a visit, since I love books almost as much as trains.

Hi Tom.

A superb thread...thanks for starting it. A trip to the UK is on my "bucket list". Perhaps we can do it together some day. While I can plan to fly over on a regular commercial flight, I expect they'll make me come back on an cargo plane due to the many pounds of transport books I'll undoubtedly purchase while I'm there!!!
