Sarah, congratulations on your model of CB&Q stock car #58214 making the cover and ten page artical in the March/April 2021 issue of The O Scale Resource!  The car is a masterpiece indeed and would win First Prize in a Golden Spike award if any Proto 48 group offered one for the best model entered in such a contest.

Item: Wonder if the #58214 ever found itself in service with celebrated CB&Q 4-6-0 #919 and a Drover's Caboose, like the O scale wood model offered by LaBelle Woodworking Company?  LaBelle, still in business and located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is deep in Union Pacific and Burlington Lines territory.  The CB&Q Drover's Caboose, priced at $70.75, is another great project to consider building during the Covid19 crisis.

Thanks for sharing another one of your God given skills with OGR members.

Auf wiedersehen

Joe

Dear Joe, vielen Dank!! They sit in Cheyenne?! Wow. Visiting that city is so high on my to do list. I have just ordered a drover's caboose kit. Thanks for the hint! I'll cheat a bit here since in the mid 1940's these cabooses might have been long gone. But it's a model railroad with me being the biggest shareholder.

Kind regards

Sarah

Sarah, you're most welcome!

I'm bet there are several Burlington experts here at OGR who know everything about CB&Q cabooses, including the history timeline of the drovers, and will be to share their knowledge about them when they read your plan to build the LaBelle kit.  Please be sure and share your building skills on the kit when you begin  construction.

Note: Be sure and take a look at Carey William's thread about Berard Corbin's Burlington T2 mallet scratch built by O scale modeler and author of a book covering CB&Q steam locomotives.  The video clip is enough to warm the heart of every Burlinton Route fan, Everywhere West and everywhere else!

Sincerely

Joe

All is good! 1947 and 1953!!
