Hello all ..thank you for your kind words ... I'm very fortunate to have the Randall .... and it's sister .

Last year at Trainfest ..(come on out this year in November  and enjoy train heaven with huge layouts) ... SGMA ...had a fine layout thanks to Bob Nelson and friends ....   I ran the Randall built by Bob Hendrichs...pulling Randall cars  .... please see link

So Bob what do you think about double heading the two Randalls ?..would that site be enough to get you to drive into the frozen tundra again ?  ........I'll experiment with the two on my tiny loop ..to see if they like each other ....

Bob Henderich also built up a set of Randall castings into a Berkshire ... (only one) .

I wonder when the Hudson fell by the wayside in favor of the UP Big Boy & Challenger (they seem like the go-to steam locomotives nowadays).

Seems like it was very popular even into the 70's & 80's, then just faded to obscurity. I rarely see any new models made of it.

There have been a ton of Hudsons starting in the 90's up to the Vision Line just a few years ago.

It is unlikely that I will venture into the frozen northern tundra this year to attend Trainfest but I would love to hear (and see with photos and videos) if your experiments with the two Randalls were successful or not.

Hello I'm working on the layout with some 96 in diameters curves once completed I'll try the double-headed Randall Hudsons.

Sorry  the Randall Hudson's are  rather thin on the ground , very few were actually built up. Fewer still were built to run.

The cars were recast up till the 80's ...but engine mold was lost so very few cast .

There are a few recast  Park Hudson's out there .

One sold about a year ago,..but it was display,only as no drive train was ever added .
