Re: Recommendation for 3rd Rail upgrade

Hello everyone

I am looking for a recommendation(s) for someone that could perform an upgrade on a 3rd Rail PRR N-1s #7344 to either Legacy, PS3 or TMCC.

I have both Legacy and DCS systems so I am flexible with either system.

The engine appears in very good condition, I have run it around the layout a few times without any issues.

Secondary wish would be to replace the tender couple with a Kadee coupler and / or have the engine weathered.

Gunrunner is the man to talk to. I would go with an ERR cruise commander, railsounds, super chuffer and chuff generator. After gunrunner can send it to Harry Heike for weathering.

Upgraded with ERR cruise and weathering, the 3rd Rail N1s is a great locomotive. I did this one myself and no, I don't do work for others. There are several talented people on the forum who do great conversion work.

This may be a goofy suggestion but under the scenery forum they have developed a source list. Could a source list of technicians willing to do repairs and upgrades be developed under the electrical forum? Now that many of the local train stores are closing good technicians able and willing to accept work are getting more difficult to find.
