You can't. Only a moderator can. Send an "ALERT" to the moderators.
If it's a for sale click on the star in the bottom right corner. Choices are edit topic and delete topic. When you delete be sure to hit confirm.

Absolutely not true Dave is correct
If there have been no replies to a thread, then the original poster can delete it. That's why it works on the For Sale forum....there are never any replies there.
As soon as a reply is posted, then only a moderator can delete the thread.
Not to sure exactly your concern.
In my experience you can delete your "For Sale / Trade listing".
However on topic listings, once someone responds to your initiated listing, only a moderator can remove it.
You can delete posts you make to any other thread at any time.
On a couple of occasions when a topic I started drew out other than the best in people I did request for it to be deleted.
