I am accumulating a lot of die cast (and some from other materials) road vehicles. Many of these are not marked the way I want and I'd like to remove the unwanted lettering, designs, etc. I've tried decal solvent, Goo Gone, alcohol, and several other methods. None have even remotely worked.
How can I get this stuff off of my vehicles without scarring the paint jobs?

Nail polish remover, but be very careful that you don't leave it on too long. Dave G.

Some of the Die cast vehicles have clear coat
The nail polish remover worked very well on two of the six cars, didn't phase the other four. I try other solutions.
I also stripped a couple of plastic cars using a brake fluid soak and after several minutes finished them with an old toothbrush. Didn't have any problems with it attacking the plastic.
