Good Day to Everyone!

I have a RailKing Northern Pacific RS-11, PS2 / 3Volt system, product no. 30-2818-1, which is operating a little erratic.  It's been boxed for a little over 5 years now, and likes to shutdown and restart in conventional mode when crossing onto older sections of track.  The battery is original and likely just needs to be replaced.  I plan to get a BCR2 for it, since I'll be in there and get it done.  I was hoping someone may have a tip or two with removing the shell to access the battery.

There are 6 body mount screws, four forward, and two aft, plus a tab at the aft end which looks to engage into the frame.  It appears to me that once the 6 screws are removed, the shell should translate forward to allow the tab or the foot to clear the slot.  However, the shell is difficult to budge.  The forward end can be raised a few degrees, but the aft is still being retained at the slot where the tab engages.  I am unable to slide the shell forward to get it to clear.  I can push the tab back slightly, but it still doesn't seem to clear.  I don't want to force it too much, and I was hoping someone may have some insight or any tricks to separate them?

Thanks for your time, and if anyone from MTH should happen upon this thread.  A premier version of the RS-11 in the NP black and yellow livery would be awesome!  wink-wink, nudge-nudge...
