Wondering whether anyone might have some information regarding the solenoid coil for this accessory...
The attached photo shows the coil as received in the accessory. The wiring of the semaphore was a mess...and, in fact, none of the connecting wires were attached to the solenoid coil leads! The outer wrap of the coil had disintegrated and was mostly gone. The remaining coils....approximately 30 windings of #28awg wire...seem incomplete. There are witness markings above and below these coils on the inside tape that, to me, indicate there once was at least one layer of coils the full length of the spool. But was there more than one layer? And how many windings did this solenoid originally have?
I can certainly rewind and re-wrap the solenoid, but I would like to know what the original specs were?
Any help, anyone?
Also, I'm looking for a cover for the lantern bulb (second attached photo). I found a parts store that had this item, 80-51, listed, but no one answers the email, and the site was last updated more than a year ago.
The rest of the semaphore parts/finish are in very good shape.....a bit of cleaning has them very respectable. However, I'd like to get it functional.
