I am about to attempt to repair my PRR operating boxcar and have located the parts from S&W. However, I need to take off a door guide or two and wondering what is the trick to pulling the studs holding the guide?
Since I have not ordered the plunger set as yet, how does this set get installed into the frame of the car??

Insert a very small screwdriver tip between the door guide and the plastic mound right at the rivet and work it out. Be careful not to damage the body.
Sounds a little scary, but I'll give it a try, sure do not want to break the plastic. Thanks.
Use a soldering gun to warm the rivets enough to loosen them, then pry out. Use the gun to push the rivets back in
OK, that is an interesting way as well. Just a little heat of course, to not melt the plastic.
You just touch the iron to the rivet for a second and then gently pry it out, usually slides right out. I typically put a tiny spot of CA Adhesive on them when I put them back in to make sure they stay.
