Hello, all...

In response from interested parties, I'll post a new topic here rather than hijack another's thread...

The work that I've been doing with Marker has been coming to fruition, and they include replacement / scratch building parts, such as bolsters, coupler shims and some others.

Bolsters:

They are a drop-in replacement for Atlas-style bolsters; which you can see was broken & epoxied in the last picture.

Atlas Hybrid Spacer

The last photo is the "Hybrid" spacer that I've designed to fit both horizontal and vertical lugs on Atlas Master & Trainman cars.

A new spacer will be designed today for Atlas cars that need a thinner (0.080") spacer, and don't have lugs (Like their Steel Reefers; see second picture from top), and will have the mounting holes there for the vertical holes, and counter suck so the Kadee-style coupler box will sit flux against the bottom of the spacer.

I'll post pictures when available.

Thanks,

Mario

What else will we be seeing, doors, truck sideframes, maybe even roof walks?!?!?!

I have a lot of work to do on shims and adaptors for the rest of the diesels, and then go on to the steam engines...

Doors possibly...

My printer doesn't have the resolution for side frames... maybe my next one.

Mario,

I had 6 PS2 boxcars from 3 makers (MTH, Lionel, Weaver) and had to change the doors on 4-5 of them to match the prototype.

What I found was each maker had a different mounting method, thickness of door material, and height of door.  You would have to make them maker specific I'm afraid if you wanted to cover the whole spectrum.

I made mine to fit each car, but never got the hardware (door latches, etc) made to go on them so they're very plain:

I'd have to go back to see what type of door and width this is (I don't keep all this stuff in my head ya know!).

Don't know if a "universal" door(s) could be made, along with the tracks, that would work on all PS1 boxcars but that's something to look into.
