I would try getting a parts breakdown off the Lionel support site so you can have the part numbers. Then it would make it a lot easier for the parts guy mentioned above. 

Lionel has parts listings for many of the older products.

Go to the page: https://www.lionelsupport.com/service-documents/

Click on the dropdown next to the download button.  Select one of the Supplements and download it.  Repeat until you have them all, they're a useful reference.  The have stuff from 1970 to around 2004.

I had no idea this was a thing. Going to check it out.
