I have a Lionel 6-31914 NYC Railsounds set with 8602 Locomotive, tender and 3 cars.  I have no manual so I looked it up on the Lionel site.  It states that the battery should be replaced but it does not show where it is or how to do it.  I am strictly conventional and there are a lot more screws in the tender than I care to take out in fear of something falling off inside.  Any help with changing the battery would be appreciated.

That was indeed the screw to remove and why I didn't see that on page 11 is beyond me at this point.  Anyway if you look at the drawing on page 11 the, (what I believe are resistors, I do not understand electronics thus my question) round things hanging down are too low to allow the battery to slip in under them without pushing them up so I'll leave it out.   I did insert the battery part way and ran it without the shell and it work properly after shutting down.
