You have to contact them via their email address in their profile as no replies are allowed in the Buy/Sell section.  Click on their name and IF they added an email address you can send them an email.  If there is no email address then they wasted their time even posting an ad because no one will be able to contact them. (It appears they don't list one unfortunately for them and you.)

You also may want to consider adding an email address to your profile.

I am trying to reply to a For Sale post by member TXVT,

but cannot see how. I would be happy to message him as well, but again cannot see how.

Thanks

The selling member hasn't put an e-mail address in his profile, but did put it in an earlier For Sale post for the same items. Check here:

Read THIS.

It's a good read, Rich.  But while I may not be the sharpest tack on the board, I'm kinda' with let's play with trains - in other words, I tried to figure out how to contact TXVT yesterday already, just to help lpwt out.  And that was even after reading your instructions at that time.  I'll be darned if I can figure it out myself.  I can't even figure out how to add my e-mail to my profile page so other members can see it.  As of right now, it's there, but only visible to administrators.

Admittedly, I don't have anything for sale, so I don't know if that makes a difference for me or not.  I dunno, but respectfully speaking, there are a few things on this forum that just doesn't seem to be very intuitive, no matter how many times one reads the instructions.

To add an email address for members to contact you...

Go to your profile and select "Edit Profile".  Scroll down to the section that says "Other Profile Information" to a line that says "Display Email".  Enter your email address there that you want members to contact you with and will be visible in your profile to other members.  It can be your main email address or it can be an account setup on Google or another email service that you use for non personal messages.  Once entered continue to scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Update Profile".

Thanks Marty, found it.  Appreciate it.

However, I'm still in lpwt's boat - if I had wanted to contact TXVT about his track, I am unable to.  There's no 'reply' or 'e-mail' available for me to contact him, either.  So did he not leave a way?  Or is there some other reason?  Just curious, as stated before, I was going to try and help lpwt the other day and was unable to.

Without an email in his profile or in the post (which is not recommended), there is no way to contact him. Rule #1 is always provide contact information.  He won't sell much that way unless he left a trail like the other guys found in another post. The best way is to have an email in his profile so that folks have to be a member to contact them and your email address isn't out on the forum for non- members to see.

Unfortunately this happens way too often.  Folks want to buy but can't contact the seller without the email address.  OGR made a decision to keep the replies off the forum and strictly via email to keep the board on a level playing field.  A contact email is required somewhere.

Uhmm....how much more "intuitive" does it have to be.  You are the one that filled out your profile including the lengthy stuff at the bottom in your signature....how did you miss the "display email" above that?...
