Chuck, the reset code is the number you use to reset the system back to factory defaults for all the features. The "8" that Bill gave is likely to be it. I have a K-Line scale Hudson and reset code is "4" for that steamer. But I have found something really weird with this engine since I published the original post. I was in the process of trying another number and after I put the engine on the track with it set on "program" I discovered it behaved normally. Everything worked; sounds, motion and all. I have no idea why. I am not familiar with this particular engine. I am attempting to fix it for a friend.

Bill, I'd like to see that page.

Oh yes. I forgot about that "restore features" code. I was thinking about how the Legacy resets by pressing the "R" on the CAB2.

I have that page somewhere for the Lionel engines with codes for diesel and steam. Is that page good for K Line as well? But, is this a K Line Cruise engine? I also have 3 pages or so on setting the codes for Cruise. Although as GRJ says, the Cruise M from ERR is a better way to go on that. I did install Cruise M into two K Line Hudsons and they run better and very well.

I'm curious about posting copied schematics and directions. I assume they don't fall into this copywrite issue like the picture posting that has recently come up. I'll ask the editor on that...been wondering.

John:

Here is the complete "manual" which I had forgotten that I had scanned it several years ago.  The info you want is on page 5.

I don't think we need to worry about a copyright issue on this as K-Line's been out-of-business for over 12 years now.
