I just finished cleaning some pre-war lithographed cars using mild soap and water and a toothbrush. The cars look as good as they are going to get considering the scratches but the finish looks dull. What do you suggest I use to get some of that shine back. I've heard of using Pledge but read that it contains silicone and shouldn't be used as you can never get it off. Can anyone make a suggestion?

Some litho had a dull finish even when new so I guess it depends on the individual car. I use Maguieres but you will get many favorites from others.

I have used Color Back by Turtle Wax. I have also used Pledge. I use pledge on my motorcycle also.
I highly recommend leaving them as they are.

Mothers will remove the lithography do not use it on those cars!!

One product I like is STP's Son of a Gun. It is similar to Armor All, but doesn't leave the surface as shiny as Armor All. Test it first on a junker car, just to make sure it doesn't damage the surface. The only thing I have trouble with STP Son of a Gun is on rubber stamped lettering. Don't use it there.
