While thumbing through the Classic Trains magazine at the store, there was a nice review of the Menards cars. The take away is that this was a great low cost way to fill out your consist and fill the yards rather than dropping alot of $$ on a few high detailed "rivet counted" cars (agreed! 
).
Know I will get that cable car, though maybe too long overhang of my curves but can park it next to, appropriately, the Menards Power station.

Nice article that you referenced, RRMAN - thanks for making us aware of it. I just read it and I agree with the take away that you mentioned. Their findings seem to align with the consensus of several posts about Menards cars here on the Forum.
I just got my first order of Menards cars today and I have nothing but Praise for the ones I got and price second to none in my book
