The good news is, from the front page, we know this was made in 2005 and is a PS2 and given that date, most likely a PS2 3V system.

The train/engine manual points you to read the manual your control system because the instructions would be slightly different for each control system.

Also, I have to ask based on your question, after watching your layout and your METCA association, is this your first time with a DCS train and you just added DCS control to your layout? This is your first DCS capable (PS2 or PS3) MTH engine?

thanks for your help and thorough response.
To answer your last question, I have a collection of PS1,and PS 2 engines. I also have a TIU and DCS REMOTE. What caused my confusion was the 3 volt battery when I went to install a BCR. That’s when I went for the manual.
