Hi Folks,

Finishing up here at the factory in China and meeting with Designers and Builders.

Due to a gap in production, 2 of our factories (Assembly Facilities) are interested in finishing the Rock Island Rockets ASAP. This is what we've been waiting for to make a short run of these.

This very unique train made of EMC TA Diesels and Budd Cars that ran in the middle of our country in the 1940s. We have been advertising these for a couple years and finally have the opportunity to put them into production.   We are making only 75 TAs and Sets of Cars. I have set production levels based on orders and we have only a few remaining reservations for these. Mostly for the primary set, Peoria.

The TA will be a Brass body diesel with Horizontal motor design similar to our other diesel productions. Why Brass? Because production levels are relatively small. The cars will be of Aluminum construction and and each set has at least 2 cars that are articulated (sharing a truck). It's a very interesting and unique train for your layout or collection.

But as the days pass, it will get harder to accommodate further reservations, so act quickly. These ain't cheap, but they will be accurate and with only 75 sets in 2R and 3R combined, they will never be found in the secondary market. So now's your chance.

They are shorter than 85' Pullman cars, which is what a traditional 21" car would be.

Each of the Rocket cars are scale in length:

Baggage 483 mm =  19"

1st Articulated Coach 400 mm = 15.7"

2nd Articulated Coach 483 mm = 19"

Observation 491 mm = 19.3"

They've been tested on 054 3 Rail and 56" Radius 2 Rail Track.

To avoid the 10% tariff we are air shipping the 3rd Rail Rockets to arrive before September 1st. Only a few sets of Des Moines Rockets are available in 2R and 3R. The rest are fully reserved. If some customers don't pick up their order, I will post them as In Stock on our web site.

This is a train l wish l could justify owning, but modeling a shortline, it would sit at the junction.  I want to see one on here when they are delivered, perhaps the Rocky Mountain version.  Engine and cars make trains unique.  Rock Island was also known for unusual power built in own Kansa shops.

??Another one of THOSE!!??  What you want to sell is not what I want to buy!

How things can change in a heart beat:

Tuesday we cancelled the Air Shipment. Models will come the regular way, by Ocean Freight. Tariffs put off until Dec 15th.

Very, very nice, Scott.  A lot of thought went into the features like opening/closing roof air duct covers, the diaphragms, placement of Little People inside the cars, and even the windshield wiper on the center observation window.

I tip my hat.
