The Rockville Lions Club will be having their train show at the Rockville MD Senior Center November 14 and 15. This is a GREAT layout display show (no dealers) offering the opportunity to see pretty much every railroad club in the Washington DC area.

The National Capital Trackers will have an O Gauge layout (I'm one of two organizers) and some of "Team Trackers" will be building a Standard Gauge layout in an adjoining room.

Please come out and see us and of course, support the Lions club.

A few photos of previous years show....

Loco-Doctors!

Sometimes some cool non-train things appear, for example, Tracker Mike's 1934 Packard. When this shows up, he becomes the most popular guy at the show!

I will try to make this show with my daughter in tow. I think she'll enjoy it!

I see from the flyer that there will be a "loco doctor" present. I'm guessing that they perform minor repairs on the spot. Is that for the benefit of train clubs running their displays or for show goers? If the latter, how does it work (rates)?

Thanks!

James,

The Loco-Doctor is able to make small minor repairs for a small fee for anyone that needs it although he is really there for the public. He also works part time as a tech at MTH so he knows his stuff. Does very good work for very reasonable prices.

John

Thank you and well done! I've been trying to promote this show as best I can. I've made a big push online and on social media lately and tomorrow plan to put up flyers at local libraries, grocery stores,,
Starbucks and other locations that have community bulletin boards. I've also promoted on parenting magazine online calendars and other media. Please feel free to put up flyers and/or hand them out to anyone you may think is interested. Appreciate your support. Please come by and say hello if possible.

I haven't looked at a print Post in years...read it online. I've never seen a "Weekend Section" online (unless I've always missed it).

Last I saw the print Weekend Section it was pretty lame....I remember the days when the Weekend Section was nearly just as long as the main paper!
